If you are foodie, you will find that many different country’s cuisines have influenced the foods of Slovenia.
Some of their dishes are heavy in meats and starches, like potatoes, similar to German meals.
Sausages, pastry items and strudels popular in Austria are also found in Slovenia.
Also part of typical meals, you will find Hungarian goulashes, chicken or beef stews and palacinke, which are similar to pancakes filled with nuts and topped with chocolate.
Italian cuisine, which is one of the most popular types of food in the world, influenced Slovenian cuisine with types of pasta, potato dumplings and risotto.
